Gail Gutsche - Commissioner
Democrat Gail Gutsche was elected to the Montana Public Service Commission in 2008. She is the second woman to be elected to the position. Her current PSC term ends January 2013.
Gail served in the Montana House of Representatives from 1999-2005, including two sessions as Vice Chair of the Natural Resources Committee. She was also a member of the Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, and Judiciary Committees. She was elected Whip in 2005.
During her tenure at the legislature Gail also served on the Law and Justice Interim Committee (Chair in 2002-03), and the Department of Corrections Advisory Committee.
A resident of Missoula for the past 17 years, Gail was co-owner of Wild Rockies Tours, a Montana-based canoe-touring business for 12 years. Gail has extensive experience in the non-profit arena where she has served as development coordinator, program manager, and public affairs director. In addition, Gail has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations including the Missoula YWCA, MT NARAL, Northwest Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides (NCAP), Montana Parks Foundation, and Wild Rockies Filed Institute.
Gail has a lengthy background in journalism and publishing where she has worked as an editor, writer, and advertising sales representative.
Born in St. Paul, MN, Gail graduated from Gustavus Adophus College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Coaching Certificate.
